Captain Jon Semmes of Singing Riverboat Tours

Friends of the Central Ridge Library

January 19, 2:00pm

Everyone is invited to join the Friends of the Central Ridge Library at the Central Ridge branch for their annual meeting featuring a musical performance and talk by Captain Jon Semmes of Singing River Tours.

Captain Jon Semmes, your tour guide for this event, is a professional boat captain and musician. He shares his knowledge of Florida's ecology and history through story and song, and Captain Jon has spent many years honing his talent by sharing his delightful stories with audiences.

Marshall Frank and Jay BarnhartFriends of the Coastal Region Library

January 13, 2:00pm

The public is welcome at the Friends of the Coastal Region Library's Annual Meeting at the Coastal Region Library for the "Dick and Doc Duo," when retired Miami-Dade County homicide captain Marshall Frank teams up with former forensic pathologist Jay "Doc" Barnhart for a special event featuring music, laughter, a book talk, and book signing. (Cash or check only for book purchases.)

Mr. Frank has studied classical violin since the age of seven and was a past member of the Broward County Symphony for three years as a First Violinist. This violin-pianist duo combines their talent in a fun-loving musical forum where Gypsy, Tango, Broadway Shows, Movie Themes, Ethnic and Classical music combines in a fun and exciting way that is sure to entertain.

The officer installation will precede the event, and refreshments will be served. Join the Friends of the Coastal Region Library for this special meeting!

Friends of the Lakes Region Library

January 10, 10:30am

Everyone is welcome to join the Friends of the Lakes Region Library at the Lakes Region Branch for their annual meeting.

This year's meeting features a talk by Julianne Munn, the Food Editor for the Chronicle, who will discuss Civil War reenactment in Citrus County and related food topics. Ms. Munn has a wealth of knowledge to share about her experiences with her historical hobby and her expertise on food related topics is mouth-watering!

February 6, 1:00pm

The public is invited to the Friends of the Homosassa Public Library's Annual Meeting. This year's meeting features a talk and book signing by local author Adalbert Krei. 

Mr. Krei's recently published memoir "Ten Guardian Angels and a Tin Tub" tells a story of family and hope and relates with suprising humor and heart the trials and tribulations of growing up in Germany during WWII.
