Make a Difference Day

This year on the Annual Day of Caring, youʼre invited to participate in our special childrenʼs literacy initiative, “Page it Forward.”

We believe books change a childʼs life. Children with access to home libraries achieve more and have brighter futures. Thatʼs why we want to put new books into the hands of Citrus Countyʼs children in need. On Saturday, October 22, 2011, join us at one of the five county libraries when weʼll distribute free new books to children who attend.

Please donate through the United Way website, Click Here to Donate

Registration is necessary to ensure that every child receives a book. You can register early by calling any library beginning the week of September 26. Public registration opens October 3 through the online library calendar or by phone; registration closes October 19.

During the event, kids will receive free books, make a craft, get a healthy snack donated by our friends at Walmart, and sit down with volunteers who will read their new book with them. Our friends from the Fire Departmentwill, Sheriff's Department, Parks and Recreation, and Extension Office will also join us to provide informational tables.

Event times:

10:30 am - 1:00 pm
Central Ridge
Lakes Region

1:30 pm - 4:00 pm
Coastal Region

1:30 pm - 3:00 pm
Floral City

For more information, contact your local library.
