NaNoWriMo Kickoff

Picture of NaNo logoNaNoWriMo is an annual creative writing project that takes place during the month of November. NaNoWriMo challenges writers to complete a 50,000 word goal by the end of the month. This kick off event will give you an opportunity to meet some of your fellow writers and provide you with some resources to call upon when writer's block sets in.

Ancestry Library Edition
- Over 1.5 billion names in over 4,000 databases for conducting genealogical and history research. Available to users in the library only.
HeritageQuest Online (Access from inside the Library)
HeritageQuest Online (Library Card Number Required for access from outside of the Library) - U.S. federal census records from 1790-1930 and over 25,000 family and local histories.

ETHNIC SOURCES
Center for Jewish History - Contains holdings of approximately 100 million archival documents, a half million books, and thousands of photographs, artifacts, paintings, and textiles. 
Ireland Census- The censuses of Ireland of 1901 and 1911, which are in the custody of the National Archives of Ireland, represent an extremely valuable part of the Irish national heritage. You can perform a free search on The National Archives of Ireland website. Site also contains some very informative History of Ireland in the early 20th century. Note: not available on ALE.
Italian Genealogy - Italian genealogy, New York death records and more.
Yad Vashem - Holocaust Martyrs' and Heroes' Remembrance Authority. A free, easily searchable database containing the names of over three million holocaust victims.
