Friends of the Lakes Region Library Business Meeting

lakesThe Friends of the Library are non-profit organizations dedicated to enhancing public library service for the citizens of Citrus County.

Friends are people who love books, love to read, and want to help others enjoy the pleasure of reading. Friends donate time and resources to the libraries and Friends’ organizations. Friends believe that they can make the difference between a good Library System and a great Library System. Friends of the Library work to make libraries and their community better.

Become part of a fun group that makes a real difference. You can download an application form, fill it out, and bring it into your local library today.

Stampin' Up!® Card Making

card-makingAdults can join experts for a fun-filled class creating handmade cards. Learn special card making techniques, such as rubber stamping, embossing, die cutting, punching, and embellishing. Attendees will create  greeting cards to take home. Classes are free, but registration is required due to limited attendance.

Free Movie: Creed

creedAdonis Johnson (Michael B. Jordan) never knew his famous father, boxing champion Apollo Creed, who died before Adonis was born. However, boxing is in his blood, so he seeks out Rocky Balboa (Sylvester Stallone) and asks the retired champ to be his trainer. Rocky sees much of Apollo in Adonis, and agrees to mentor him, even as he battles an opponent deadlier than any in the ring. With Rocky's help, Adonis soon gets a title.

AARP Smart Driver Course

aarp-drivingThe AARP Smart Driver Course teaches proven driving techniques to help keep you and your loved ones safe on the road. While the class is geared towards drivers age 50 and over, all licensed drivers are welcomed in the class. There are NO tests. When you take the AARP Smart Driver Course, you could be eligible for a multi-year discount on your auto insurance. Participants are advised to contact their insurance company for further discount details.
