is hosting a Healthy Food Drive
December 28 - January 15, 2016

Our local food pantries often find their stock of non-perishable food items depleted after the holidays. The Nature Coast Volunteer Center and Retired & Senior Volunteer Program is holding a food drive in honor of Martin Luther King, Jr., who once asked “What are you doing for others?” Our goal is to help those pantries serve the citizens of Citrus County by providing nutritional food for their families.

MOST NEEDED ITEMS:
√ Peanut Butter
√ Whole Grain Pasta
√ Low Sodium Pasta Sauce
√ Whole Grain Oats and Cereal
√ Brown Rice
√ Canned Tuna & Chicken in water
√ Canned Fruits in natural juices
√ Canned Vegetables in water
√ Canned Soup (low sodium preferred)

Non-perishable food donations will be collected December 28 - January 15, 2016. Our volunteers will then count, sort, and package the food on January 17 for our local food pantries to pick up. Please help us provide for these organizations by placing non-perishable food items in one of the collection boxes set up at the following locations: the Lecanto Government Building, Emergency Operations Center, Citrus County Courthouse, both Tax Collector’s Offices, Citrus County Libraries, the Citrus County Resource Center, and Extension Services.
