Celebrate Flag Day

Central Ridge branch
Celebrate Flag Day with activities presented by The Daughters of the American Revolution.

Coastal Region branch
Participate in activities presented by the Fort Cooper Branch of the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) dressed in Colonial attire from 10 AM to 12 NOON.

Floral City branch

Join us as our community celebrates and honors our nation's flag with a flag raising ceremony conducted by the Herburt Surber American Legion Post #225 and the Joe Nic Barco Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #7122 at 10:00 AM.  Stroll along the linear park to view the fifty state flags and historical American flags on display courtesy of the Friends of Fort Cooper from 9 AM to 3 PM.  Participate in activities presented by the Fort Cooper Branch of the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) dressed in Colonial attire from 10 AM to 12 NOON. Greet a Sons of the American Revolution (SAR) Withlacoochee Chapter member dressed in Colonial Military uniform and view Vane Scott's "Many Faces of Old Glory II" courtesy of the SAR at 10:15 AM and 11:15 AM. This video shows over 20 flags of great historic significance, while Scott weaves exciting, entertaining, and even humorous stories of each into a program that will make you come away a proud and better American.

Homosassa branch
Join the Fort Cooper Branch of the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) in a salute to the American Flag. There will be members of the DAR dressed in Colonial dress and "Betsy Ross" will do her five-point star demonstration. Children can participate in Flag Day by making a special snack and patriotic crafts. 

Lakes Region branch

Participate in activities presented by the Fort Cooper Branch of the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) dressed in Colonial attire from 10 AM to 12 NOON.
