December 5:Dusty Road Rangers @ The Old Courthouse Museum

Back by popular demand, the Dusty Road Rangers on Saturday, July 16 at 7pm at The Old Courthouse Heritage Museum. Tickets are $20 and will include appetizers and a cash bar! The Dusty Road Rangers is a string band based out of the Fort Lauderdale area. They play a mix of Americana, bluegrass old time, folk and Celtic music, and perform on a regular basis at the monthly festival hosted by the South Florida Bluegrass Association as well as numerous other venues in the South Florida area. Band members: Joe Fariello - guitar, mountain dulcimer, harmonica, vocals. Mike Desztich - mandolin, guitar, vocals; Ellen Eckblad - fiddle, vocals; Roy Connors - banjo, guitar, vocals; Bob Haynes - double bass, vocals. So, put on your jeans and bandanas and come on out to hear some good ol' fashion bluegrass old time music!

Movies in the Park: July 16, 2016

It’s time again for another of Citrus County Parks & Recreations Movie in the Park Events.zootopia

This months movie will be "Zootopia" Rated PGPre-Show Activities are from 6:30 pm - 8:30 pm, FREE Laser Tactics and Rip Roarin’ Game Rig.

Join us for a FREE movie under the stars. Bring your family, picnic basket and blanket to this fun movie night. We will supply the (FREE) popcorn, you make the memories. Join us at a park near you! (Folding chairs should be no more than six inches off the ground so they don't block others' view.)

Movies begin at dark.

Estuary Exploration: A Science Discovery Summer Camp

state-park-summer-camp-2016The Friends of the Crystal River State Parks, Inc., in partnership with the Florida Park Service, the Florida Coastal Office (FCO) and the Florida Public Archaeology Network (FPAN), will host summer camp for children ages 8-11 at the Crystal River Preserve State Park July 11th - July 15th 2016.

Campers will learn how to appreciate and understand nature, take an active role in conservation and relate to how ancient people lived life along Florida’s Gulf coast.
Professional archeologists, biologists, park staff and volunteers will teach camp sessions.

Summer camp applications are available on line https://www.floridastateparks.org/park-events/Crystal-River-Preserve
or can be picked up in person at the park office. Completed applications with payment are required to secure space and processed on a first come first serve basis. Summer camp registration fee is $80.00 per camper, after camp care is available from 2:30 to 4:00 pm for an additional charge of $20.00.
