Do you dream of becoming an American citizen? Join us at the library for seven weeks of classes designed to teach eligible individuals the skills they will need to pass the U.S. Citizenship exam.
This seven-week series of Citizenship Classes will teach adult learners the basic knowledge needed to pass the U.S. Naturalization Exam. Topics covered include: American history, the three branches of government, courts and the legal system, and famous Americans. The classes will also focus on speaking, reading, and writing skills. Learners will receive sample test questions and have interview practice. Space is limited. Learners can register by calling Literacy Services at (352)628-5626.
Pre-registration is encouraged to ensure seat and materials availability. Basic English skills are needed. Contact the library for assistance and more information.

Adults can join experts for a fun-filled class creating handmade cards. Learn special card making techniques, such as rubber stamping, embossing, die cutting, punching, and embellishing. Attendees will create two separate greeting cards to take home. Classes are free, but registration is required due to limited attendance.
Book discussions. Readers come together and talk about books and the reading experience.
