The Friends of the Library are non-profit organizations dedicated to enhancing public library service for the citizens of Citrus County.
Friends are people who love books, love to read, and want to help others enjoy the pleasure of reading. Friends donate time and resources to the libraries and Friends’ organizations. The Citrus County area is a wild wonderland of nature conservation and preservation as well as recreational areas. The Withlacoochee National Forest offers an amazing array of all three concerns. A Forest Ranger from the Florida State Forest Service will let you in on the secrets of the Withlacoochee recreational areas such as the Croom Preserve and the Tillis Hill Park and how their work, particularly with control burns keeps our forests healthy and open for our recreational use.
