Think back to a time in your childhood when someone sang to you—how did it make you feel? Music mingles with memory in a special way; a snippet of a song can transport us back, not only to a time and a place, but to a feeling. Traditionally music in childhood means love, and comfort, and community. The wonderful thing is that you can help create these kinds of memories for your child, just by singing. So join us at our Sing that Tune family cabaret, where we will bring out the karaoke machine and everyone can enjoy a family evening of song, activities and light refreshments.

The Citrus County Library System is proud to welcome Citrus County Sheriff’s Officer, Nancy Suto, and Linda Boles, bloodhound trainer and owner. Also, meet the beloved bloodhound. Learn the secrets of scent dog training and the unique system of the Sheriff’s department that allows these special dogs to get on the trail of a missing person as soon as the disappearance is reported. Residents of Citrus County are eligible to receive scent preservation kits that can be used to preserve a person’s individual scent for up to seven years. The scent from these kits can be used by the tracking dogs to find missing persons more quickly than relying on old clothes or hairbrushes.
