Pre-GED Tutor Workshop - Make a Difference!

Volunteer-HandsMake a difference and help other adults reach their personal and career goals. Attend our free hands-on workshop on how to be an effective Pre-GED tutor, instructor, or class assistant for the Library system's Pre-GED program. The training will cover various topics, such as: 2014 new GED Exams, literacy facts, classroom management techniques, learner motivation and goal setting, specific Pre-GED curricula, and multiple print and online resources. No prior teaching experience is needed. Space is limited. Patrons can register by calling Literacy Services at(352)628-5626.

Grandparents Day at Preschool Stories

Celebrate National Grandparents Day - September 13th - by bringing along your grandparents for a special Grandparents themed Preschool Stories. This class welcomes children ages 2-5 and their caregivers to exciting stories, songs, and hands-on activities that help children learn and grow. Join us every week for this fun, educational class and help your child develop the early literacy skills needed to succeed in school and life!
